This is my latest work for the collection ” In search of the Golden Vy\u016bha<\/a>” . These are works are visual abstraction of scriptural concepts established in Vai\u1e63\u1e47ava \u015a\u0101stra.  The background to this piece is presented in the following two excerpts. As an visual artist who create images I found these passages pose as a challenge to my process pushing my practice deeper into what it means to portray a divine and transcendental subject within a artistic context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The emancipation \u00a0of attaining Vaiku\u1e47\u1e6dha, and general religiosity, gain and desire, have their appropriate situation in Gokula in their original seed form. The Vedas are also present, ever singing the Glories of the Lord of Gokula. The ten spears of dissuasion fan out in ten directions to arrest those persons who, without the Grace of Krishna, attempt to approach or associate with Goloka through contemplation. The vainglorious on the path of meditation and knowledge-cum-renunciation ( yoga, j\u00f1\u0101na) who attempt to approach Goloka are thwarted, being pierced by those ten spears. From the meaning of\u00a0\u015b\u016bla or spear is derived tri\u015b\u016bla or trident: the trident symbolises the divisions of the triple worldly qualities ( rajas, tamas, sattva) and the threefold aspects of time, or past, present and future. The yog\u012bs on the path of eightfold mysticism or the j\u00f1\u0101n\u012bs of liberationist in the monism of non-differentiative\u00a0 Brahman who rashly approach Goloka are summarily cut asunder by those tridents which are situated in the ten directions, and they plunge down into the abyss of hopelessness<\/p>\n~ \u015ar\u012bla Bhaktivinoda \u1e6ch\u0101kur – \u00a0\u015ar\u012b Brahma-sa\u1e41hit\u0101 – Purpot verse 5<\/em><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Question: <\/strong>In \u015ar\u012b Brahma-sa\u1e41hit\u0101 it is described that \u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101 and K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a are seated on a divine throne, and the whorl of the lotus flower upon which They are seated is described as a hexagonalfigure. What is the meaning of this hexagonal figure and how can this be drawn?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u015ar\u012bla Bhakti Rak\u1e63ak \u015ar\u012bdar Dev-Gosw\u0101m\u012b  Mah\u0101r\u0101j: <\/strong>I am sorry, but we are not to enter into the discu\u015bion of such higher and subtle position of the l\u012bl\u0101 of R\u0101dh\u0101-K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. That is not to be brought into public, and that is the distinction between the Gau\u1e0d\u012bya Ma\u1e6dh and the sahajiy\u0101 section. The sahajiy\u0101s are trying to imitate all these things, but we have no faith in imitation. The higher l\u012bl\u0101 will come in an individual case, and it will awaken in an irresistible way. When the programme of the s\u0101dhana stage is finished it will come automatically, spontaneously. We are believers in that, and not to know the form already and then we will reach there\u2014that is not the policy accepted by Guru Mah\u0101r\u0101j, Prabhup\u0101d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strictly stick to Gaura-l\u012bl\u0101, Mah\u0101prabhu, and you will find automatically within your heart that R\u0101dh\u0101-rasasudh\u0101nidhi is flowing. Don\u2019t attempt directly to have it. It will come automatically, spontaneously. Not intellectually you shall approach that, for that will give you a bad prejudice. Not only that, but it will be harmful prejudice and you will have to expend more energy to do away with that layer of misunderstanding.
So our \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101d did not allow these things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do your duty in your plane, according to what you deserve, and that will come naturally. That is his instruction all through, not only temporarily, but all through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t go to be a disbeliever and be very eager to see the final result. Don\u2019t do like that, for then you will get m\u0101y\u0101 instead of Yogam\u0101y\u0101.
He knows it fully well, She knows it fully well, when you are to be taken in to the confidential area, and that cannot be acquired by any other thing but His sweet will\u2014the flow of Her sweet will, or His sweet will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try to have the natural thing, not any thing of imitation or any reflection. Reflection and shadow, these two kinds of misconceptions may come there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Harin\u0101ma also it has been stated like that. Reflection and shadow, both are misguiding. And we are to cross that.
