\u201cBeyond Viraj\u0101 River is the Holy Dh\u0101m Vaiku\u1e47\u1e6dha, above that is \u015ar\u012b Gokula, known as V\u1e5bnd\u0101ra\u1e47ya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

v\u1e5bnd\u0101vana-chint\u0101ma\u1e47i,chid\u0101nanda-ratna-khani,
chinmaya ap\u016brvva dara\u015bana,
ta\u0310hi m\u0101jhe chamatk\u0101ra, Krishnavanaspati-s\u0101ra,

\u201cV\u1e5bnd\u0101van, jewel of our hearts, mine of divine gems, what a joy to see that holy beauty! In the middle a miracle, Dark Lord of forest trees, appearing like a sapphire tam\u0101l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd there is a golden vine, Queen of all the Dh\u0101m, appearing, She\u2019s supremely gracious; She\u2019s the joy of ecstasy\u2014\u2018Mah\u0101bh\u0101va\u2019 is Her Name, as She charms the charmer of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe essence of ecstasy is love; the essence of love is heart; and the acme of heart is called\u2018mah\u0101bh\u0101va.\u2019And the personality of mah\u0101bh\u0101vais our Queen, \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101 \u1e6ch\u0101kur\u0101\u1e47\u012b. She is the mine of all good, She is the jewel of Krishna\u2019s beloved.\u201d \u015ar\u012bla Bhaktivinod \u1e6ch\u0101kur and \u015ar\u012bla Krishna D\u0101s Kavir\u0101j Gosw\u0101m\u012b Prabhu composed these great things. We are not actually in the practice of reading them constantly, but I have heard such things from Guru Mah\u0101r\u0101j. These matters are very elevated for us. But there is our goal, and She is actually our Guru, as our Divine Mistress. Her form is being described here. Although these are very high matters it is necessary for us to remember them from time to time. We have our future prospect, and that is very high. \u015ar\u012bla Kavir\u0101j Gosw\u0101m\u012b has quoted in \u015ar\u012b Chaitanya-charit\u0101m\u1e5bta:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishna-bhakti-rasa-bh\u0101vit\u0101-mati\u1e25
kr\u012byat\u0101\u1e41 yadi kuto \u2019pi labhyate
tatra laulyam api m\u016blyam ekala\u1e41
janma-ko\u1e6di-suk\u1e5btair na labhyate

<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018By the association of the s\u0101dhus, talks revealing My super-glories take place. Those talks are nectar to the pure ear and heart. Continue affectionately in this way, and rapidly you will gain first faith in Myself who am the way to purification of all evils. Then heart\u2019s devotion, and finally divine love or prema-bhaktiwill graciously appear within your heart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMother, associate with the s\u0101dhus and follow their directives. Then you will understand everything. Why? The s\u0101dhus are always trying to satisfy Me; and you can see how they satisfy Me by having their association. If they are affectionate to you, they will give that consciousness to you and you will easily get My grace. This is the only way. Whoever follows it reaches Me very quickly; and this is also My direct advice in the Scriptures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the eleventh canto of the \u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam we find the \u015bloka<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ye vai bhagavat\u0101 prokt\u0101
up\u0101y\u0101 hy \u0101tma-labdhaye
a\u00f1ja\u1e25 pu\u1e41s\u0101m avidu\u1e63\u0101\u1e41
viddhi bh\u0101gavat\u0101n hi t\u0101n
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(\u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam: 11.2.34)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe ways for even the ignorant to reach Him have been told by the Supreme Lord; know those ways to be Bh\u0101gavat-dharmma.\u201d If Bhagav\u0101n says, \u201cI like fried potato,\u201d and I give Him fried potato He will be satisfied. It is not nece\u015bary to think out what will satisfy Him if He tells us what He likes. So this is the directive of Bhagav\u0101n, the Supreme Lord. He is telling you what to do, \u201cDo this, do that.\u201d This is Bh\u0101gavat-dharmma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Kapiladev was saying, \u201cBh\u0101gavat-dharmma is what is practised by the real s\u0101dhu.You follow that. You need the association of s\u0101dhu and this is My final advice to you, mother. That is, sat\u0101\u1e41 prasa\u1e45g\u0101n Mama v\u012bryya-sa\u1e41vido, bhavanti h\u1e5bt-kar\u1e47a-ras\u0101yan\u0101\u1e25 kath\u0101\u1e25. They are hearing about Me\u2014\u015brava\u1e47am; they are glorifying Me\u2014k\u012brttanam; they are remembering Me\u2014smara\u1e47a\u1e41. \u015arava\u1e47a\u1e41 k\u012brttanam Vi\u1e63\u1e47o\u1e25 smara\u1e47a\u1e41. They are trying to serve Me in every way possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also p\u0101dasevana\u1e41 archchana\u1e41 vandana\u1e41 d\u0101sya\u1e41 sakhyam \u0101tma-nivedanam\u2014serving My feet, prayer, servi- torship, friendship and self-surrender. They are offering everything to Me. They try to do everything with My association. If you a\u015bociate with such s\u0101dhus then you must also do that. There is no other work there in their association. So you must be benefited if you take advice from the s\u0101dhu and follow the s\u0101dhu\u2019scharacter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first and last advice, and very simple advice, of Bhagav\u0101n Kapiladev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in the eleventh canto the Lord Himself also defines Bh\u0101gavat-dharmma. So what is followed by the Vai\u1e63\u1e47ava and written in the \u015ar\u012bmad- Bh\u0101gavatamis Bh\u0101gavat-dharmma. Then in the next verse we find:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

y\u0101n \u0101sth\u0101ya naro r\u0101jan
na pram\u0101dyeta karhichit
dh\u0101van nim\u012blya v\u0101 netre
na skhalen na pated iha<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you take that path you have no fear from anywhere. Just run\u2014whether your eyes are open or closed it doesn\u2019t make any difference, you won\u2019t fall down. We cannot guess from here how much joy and ecstasy is there, how much happiness and enjoyment. We are trying to guess but we can\u2019t because our puppy brains can\u2019t conceive it.
Everything is explained in the Bhakti-ras\u0101m\u1e5bta-sindhu by \u015ar\u012bla R\u016bpa Gosw\u0101m\u012b; that is called the Science of Devotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There, \u015ar\u012bla R\u016bpa Gosw\u0101m\u012b has said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ya\u015b chamatk\u0101ra-bh\u0101rabh\u016b\u1e25
h\u1e5bdi sattvojjvale b\u0101\u1e0da\u1e41
svadate saraso mata\u1e25

<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can we guess about that plane? It is living. The slightest idea of that ecstasy you cannot guess with your puppy brain. What can you think? You can try to imagine how great the sky is, but how will you imagine it? In your estimation only two kilometres or two miles is great. But your brain can think, \u201cYes, the same sky is in America and in India,\u201d so some kind of broader conception is possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still even that is less than a mustard seed. \u2018One mustard seed\u2019 means fourteen worlds, up and down. All those planes together are called one brahm\u0101\u1e47\u1e0da or universe, and that is like no more than a mustard seed in the presence of the Divinity. Then how much can you guess?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can surpass the ideas of your entire consciousness then perhaps you can consider what kind of wonder that ecstasy is. Our brains are always agitating this way and that trying to understand, but we cannot guess what kind of wonder that is, but it is. And the sages and seers\u2014 the munis and \u1e5b\u1e63is\u2014they feel for us, and for our benefit they have compiled the \u015b\u0101stra to guide us, especially \u015ar\u012bla Vedavy\u0101sa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it is not helpful to try to understand this with our tiny brains. Only when that ecstasy will come and conquer our hearts can we feel it. And we must wait for that, not try for it. This is the way to taste it. When He will come, my heart will be fulfilled within a second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is the ecstasy, the e\u015bence given in the perfect philosophy of Ved\u0101nta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want that ecstasy you can try to worship that plane. Then you will get it by the mercy of the real associates of Krishna. And that is the main thing. But there\u2019s no need to be hopeless; much hope is here, especially in this kali-yuga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
